How cool! My order of "The Art of the Reese: From A to Z" was delayed so @ditavonteese sent an autographed photo along with it. Thank you, Dita! On the Twentieth Century

Givenchy Marble Rouge Révélateur looks so cool, but I googled actual pictures of it and the marbling is photoshopped. The real ones are much more blended and gradiented, like a vague smoke pattern. Tragic, ‘cause marbled lipstick isn’t, like, impossible or anything. Illamasqua and Hard Candy both had marbled lipsticks within the last year. If Hard Candy, a drugstore brand, can manage it, Givenchy should be able to too.

To be fair, the point of marbled lipstick is that you blend the colors out so they form one shade (the Illamasqua and Hard Candy lipsticks come out to a neutral purple shade when mixed). But if you don’t blend it out, you get a neat tie-dye effect! Probably not what most of Givenchy’s consumer base is going for, but that’s what I was expecting to be able to do with this.

Also to be fair, Marble Rouge Révélateur is a mixture of shades No.13 (a normal red lipstick) and Noir Révélateur (a sheer black transformer shade, meant to use your natural lips’ color to create a custom, “perfect” shade). Since the Noir Révélateur half is sheer and still comes out to a pink shade, you weren’t going to get that tie-dye effect out of this even if the promo photo wasn’t an egregious lie.

But why lie about it? Why not just make it actually marbled? Or, you know, not photoshop marbling on it. I mean, seriously.
